Design Statement
In this body of work, I focused on family and the influence it has on people. Growing up my family has always been a major influence and during this time of Covid-19 it has changed the way families are able to interact.

I have always been drawn to technology and its impact on how we create goods. In wanting to incorporate technology into my pottery, I have turned to 3D modeling and 3D printing. With 3D printing it allows a model, that is normally viewed on a screen, to be brought into the physical world. Having a physical copy lets me interact and explore the form/design to see if there are changes that need to be made, while also testing the desired function. After the model is finished with any adjustments that needed to be made, it is 3D printed one last time. With this print I use traditional mold making techniques to create molds that will be used to produce the final ceramic piece.
